NBM1038 is D’Addario’s uncoated light mandolin set in 10-38 gauges. It combines nickel-plated phosphor bronze wrap wire with a high-carbon NY steel core, a construction D’Addario associates with clear, resonant, projecting output and balanced, harmonically rich overtones. For regular mandolin restringing, it is a set positioned to let the instrument’s own tonal character come through, with improved tuning stability and increased resistance to breakage also part of the design brief.
