Nichols 1966 is a two-control fuzz pedal built around Danelectro’s revived three-transistor circuit. Fuzz sets the overall saturation, while Drive adds midrange grit and compression; their interaction moves from lighter breakup toward heavily saturated fuzz. Backing off Drive cleans up the result for rhythm work, and raising both controls produces a more splattering lead sound. Its voice is aimed at the glassy, raw fuzz associated with mid-1960s psychedelic and garage-rock records, without adding a complicated control layout.
