Empress Effects’ silver Bass Compressor puts detailed control and visual monitoring in a compact pedal format. Input and gain-reduction meters let you see those two signal readings, while independent attack and release controls let you set those parameters separately. A mix knob supports parallel compression, and the external sidechain insert works alongside a fully variable sidechain high-pass filter. Its two-position Tone + Colour circuit adds gentle tone shaping and harmonic distortion. It uses 9V DC, negative-tip power and draws approximately 100mA.
