For clarinet, this black Forestone Double Blast reed pairs a double-sided textured surface with a composite of polypropylene resin and cellulose wood fiber, more than half bamboo. It is voiced for a bright, robust sound with quick response, projection, and controlled resistance. The injection-molded vamp is smooth and made consistently, while the balanced profile is intended to feel close to a cane reed. Positioning on the mouthpiece table gives a direct way to alter resistance during setup.
