For alto saxophone, the Forestone Hinoki MH is a composite reed made from polypropylene resin and cellulose wood fiber, with bamboo representing more than half of the fiber used. Its smooth, injection-molded vamp is balanced in both directions and tapers to a 0.1 mm tip. It is intended to deliver a clear, robust core with enough buzz for projection, alongside stable intonation and articulate response. Its composite construction also resists water-logging, saliva breakdown, and warping caused by humidity or altitude changes.
