Forestone’s White Bamboo 1.5 clarinet reed uses a composite of polypropylene resin and cellulose wood fiber, with bamboo making up more than half of that fiber. Injection molding produces smooth, uniform vamps, and the reed is balanced side to side and front to back with a standard tip taper of 0.1 mm. Its resistance can be adjusted by its position on the mouthpiece table: lower placement reduces resistance, while higher placement increases it. The material resists water-logging, saliva breakdown, and warping from humidity or altitude changes.
