Lyons’ diatonic soprano xylophone gives lessons, classroom work, and home practice a hands-on way to explore pitch and simple melodic relationships. Its hand-lathed, hand-tuned aged-wood bars sit over an all-wood chamber with metal resonators, producing a warm, resonant response with overtones. The C5–A6 layout includes F-sharp, B-flat, and high F-sharp bars for C, F, and G major. Multi-colored bars add a visual pattern to the note layout, and soft-core wound yarn mallets are included.
