Meinl’s Artisan Riq pairs a wood shell and synthetic 8 3/4-inch head with ten pairs of textured brass jingles. Five lugs and a lightweight aluminum rim secure a head built for the high-tension tuning associated with riq playing, while retaining a wide dynamic range. Doum and tak strokes, along with finger rolls, bring out overtones from both head and jingles. Its white burl mosaic royale finish adds a detailed visual treatment, and a bag and tuning key come with it.
