MXR’s Timmy Overdrive puts Paul Cochrane’s circuit into a mini enclosure to conserve pedalboard space while retaining the core character of the rig. Its Clip switch offers three clipping styles, from an always-on sound with substantial headroom for driving an amp’s front end to a more compressed, saturated option. Cut-only Bass and Treble controls refine the signal without boosting frequencies: Bass works before the overdrive stage, while Treble works after it. An LF353 op-amp was selected for high-output, high-gain, hi-fi signal delivery.
