The black ’78 Model is a single humbucker based on Seymour Duncan’s late-1970s P.A.F. rewind, carrying the same hot winding specifications as that original. Its Alnico 2 magnet and output combination are voiced for warm rhythm crunch, then shift into biting lead work when the part calls for it. It also emphasizes natural and artificial harmonics, making picked harmonics and tapped runs a central part of the pickup’s intended response.
