For alto saxophone players choosing MS strength, the Hinoki pairs polypropylene resin with cellulose wood fiber; bamboo accounts for more than half of that fiber content. Injection molding creates a smooth vamp intended to remain uniform from reed to reed. It delivers a robust, clear core, enough buzz for carrying power, stable intonation, and articulate response. The composite is resistant to water-logging, saliva breakdown, and warping associated with humidity or altitude, but its liveliness and response will eventually diminish with use.
